Director, Dark of the Moon

THE STORY:
This perennial favorite is based on the haunting ballad of "Barbara Allen." Employing a large cast and set in the Smoky Mountains, it recounts the story of a witch boy who once beheld the beautiful Barbara Allen and immediately fell in love with her. This marvelous, magical story is quirky, lively, and reminiscent of movies such as "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?", as it has some great authentic folk music woven into the story, but is not a musical. DARK OF THE MOON is unpredictable and unforgettable.

Authentic dialogue and a romantic and tragic love story amount to a engaging, haunting evening. You won't soon forget this
well-played classic.

Rehearsals at the Centralia Center
We now get to rehearse in the space that will eventually become the new home of WRCT! The pictures below were taken during one of those rehearsals.

Our Set
As we get closer to the run of the show, we build our set and rehearse at McMillan Library. This set was designed by Bob Kell and Chuck Buchs-Hammonds. It was built using our risers with a wooden frame. Mill felt was used to cover everything, Jody Steinke and the painting crew made it look like a mountain peak. Susan Edgren and Jess Heltsley created the wonderful, eerie lighting that gives the set just the right mood.
