Want to be part of something different?
WRCT Studio Theatre

Did you know that there is a second theatre in our complex? It is called the Studio Theatre and is located behind and connected to the new main stage theatre. In this changeable space we launch several exciting productions each season. The purpose of the Studio Theatre is to provide Wisconsin Rapids audiences with an opportunity to experience new and varied theatrical productions they would not have the chance to experience on the main stage here or anywhere in the vicinity. There is a world of adventurous theatre for young, old, and everyone in between, and we will bring it to you.

Al Ross will direct Theater of the Mind, The Golden age of Radio April 23-24. This production will recreate the essence of early live radio, including sound effects performed in front of a live audience.

Al made his WRCT debut in Damn Yankees, the WRCT winter 2004 production. He's shared his acting chops several times since then on both the mainstage and in the Studio, where he starred in An Evening With Will Rodgers. Al's intelligent and perceptive approach to acting is sure to make him the kind of director that is loved by both actors and audiences.

Steve Martin is facilitating a
3-part Actors Workshop Series!
The first workshop on auditioning was a great success,
and you don't want to miss the next one!

June 7
Gilbert & Jaylee Mead Auditorium

  • Workshop 2 (June 7) is all about learning how to use voice and movement to, well, ACT.
  • Workshop 3 (July 26) completes the series with a class on improv for actors -- not limited to comedy improv, but how those techniques can be used to make every performance better. Check out the attached flyer for more detail on all three.

You'll want to sign up now, because space is limited! The price is $10—whether you come to one or both. How can you beat that? Give Mary Beth a call at 421-0435 or send her an email at wrct@wctc.net to get your name on the list.

Our workshops are funded by Community Grant Funds from
Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County

Do you have an idea for an exciting theatrical production, but it doesn’t seem right for the mainstage? Too strange? Too controversial? Not long enough? Then talk to us. We are the WRCT Studio Theatre, and we are soliciting ideas for productions in the Studio. All you have to do is write up your ideas in a few sentences.Tell us what it is and why it would be a good fit for the studio theatre. Send you ideas by email, mail or drop off a letter to the Studio Theatre Committee at the WRCT office. Please be aware that by submitting an idea you are agreeing to direct the production or act as producer and find a director and crews for the production.

For more information, call 421-0435.
