Set Construction
People Do?
WRCT has a reputation for having truly beautiful sets, and we are always looking for new people to give us a hand!
The set construction crew is responsible for the physical construction of the set. Other duties are as follows:
- Coordinating with the set designer and the director to design the set as they would like it
- Moving all the necessary equipment and set pieces from the storage facility to the library
- Staying within the set budget, and contacting the production manager before going over budget
- Keeping the backstage area clean during set construction
- Constructing the set in a timely manner, with little or no disturbance of rehearsals or library functions
- After set construction is complete, removing all building equipment and cleaning the backstage area
- After set is built, painting the set and stage floor, if necessary
- Striking the construction at the end of the production, and returning all the equipment and set pieces to the storage facility
