WRCT is excited to announce a partnership with Midstate technical college, bringing even greater choice in continuing education courses to our community.
We will be offering courses at held at WRCT, led by our amazing staff, through an initiative headed by Midstate Technical College.
THE ART OF ACTING
This course will concentrate on Stanislavski's "The System" which revolutionized acting. This course is designed for those who wish to refresh their acting skills and utilize foundational acting methods and terms, or for anyone who is brand new to the stage but has always wanted to learn. Students will be taken through exercises, scene work, and a final small performance. The course will conclude just in time for auditions for WRCT's production of Cabaret.

CONSTRUCTION FUNDAMENTALS FOR THEATER
This eight-hour workshop will focus on how sets are designed and built. Participants will learn the principals of set building and design along with basic construction techniques. This second half of the workshop will involve some direct hands-on learning as participants will help construct the set for the upcoming production of "Heaven Can Wait." An excellent workshop for those interested in the behind the scenes workings of a theatre or those just looking to learn more about basic construction tools as a part of a fun activity. Course fees include both lunch and a ticket for the upcoming show!

Improv has become a staple of American comedy with Second City, the Groundlings, and UCB training many of your favorite actors. Learn the games behind quick thinking and how to do great improv. Improv skills have been proven to help with public speaking, anxiety, confidence, and makes you fun at parties (hopefully).
Thursdays, February 6-27 6:00-7:30 p.m. Course fee $50
MOVEMENT FOR STAGE
This course will introduce learners to the fundamentals of theatre dance. Topics will include body positions and posture, counting for dance and storytelling through movement. Participants will also learn part of a dance number from the upcoming WRCT's production of Cabaret. This will be both a great workout and a fun dance experience! No prior dance experience necessary and all abilities are welcome. Bring socks or comfortable shoes and wear clothes that won't restrict movement.
